Indian Wedding Budapest
Indian Wedding Budapest
Naseem and Priya’s Indian wedding in Budapest was a multi days long celebration. At our initial conversation when we met in the cafe part of Hotel Marriott ( where the majority of the wedding was held later) we talked through their families and backgrounds as this is what defined the plans for the wedding day. Priya with Indian roots, Naseem with Irish and Egyptian roots, they both had different traditions, customs and religions, meaning they had to have 2 different wedding ceremonies too.
This post is mainly about their Indian wedding Celebrations in Hotel Marriott Budapest.
You might ask why they chose Budapest as their wedding location, well, Naseem grew up in Budapest and his family still lives here, so he knew the beauty of the city, and they thought this would be the perfect location to meet all their friends from all over the world and have them experience not only the wedding but show around Budapest too.
What best to start with than a sunset cruise on Danube? An easy and possibly the best way to get a glimpse of the unbelievable panorama Budapest offers.
The wedding day started in the Hotel with preparations. Lots of preparations. There were over 150 guests so the main ball room in Hotel Marriott was filled with tables, and flower arrangements.
For the Hindu wedding ceremony the huge terrace next to the ball room was set up overlooking the Buda Castle and the Chain Bridge. A Hindu marriage ceremony consists of many little rituals, the key parts are of when the daughter is given away by the father. A wedding day is an amazing experience where all your loved ones get to meet each other, both sides of the family, friends and relatives are having fun together. Besides all this, Priya’s day was so vibrant, colourful and cheerful.

Kiscelli Museum Wedding
Kiscelli Museum Wedding
Kiscelli Museum is one of the most exciting wedding venues in Budapest. It is located on the Buda side on a hill, the former baroque monastery is definitely a one of a kind location in Budapest.
Daytime museum, but for events it totally transforms into an extravagant wedding venue.
The venue offers multiple spaces. A huge gorgeous inner courtyard within the U shaped building, this is where you can have your outdoor wedding ceremony. There is a large green baroque door which leads into the museum itself which is called the sculpture hall. The third space is an ancient church which is left unrenovated, its bare walls give this space the most unique look and feel.
Given the extraordinary look of the dinner space Kata and Niklas decided to keep the venue location as a surprise for their guests, and even on the day when the outdoor ceremony began the guests had no idea of the reception venue.
It was definitely a great experience going from the sunny outdoor courtyard to the darker mood of the former church area.

Ta' Betta Wedding Winery
Ta’ Betta Winery Wedding
Ta’ Betta wedding, a fairly new wedding venue in the heart of Malta. Ta’ Betta winery, as its name suggests, an over 4 acre land with vineyards and more than 200 olive trees is an exceptionally beautiful venue.
The winery is normally not open to the public, but they organise wine tasting and it is open for smaller weddings.
There is a villa in the middle of the property with a terrace in front with beautiful views over the vineyard. Behind the villa there’s a more secluded area about the same size as the terrace so you can decide on which one to use as the wedding ceremony location or the reception venue. There’s also an area a short walk away from the building by the olive trees with a little fountain which can be used as the cocktail hour area.
Underneath the villa there is the wine cellar (it is actually open towards the garden so it is not underground) with ultra modern equipment, and this is also where you will have to move in to have your wedding party after 10 o’clock in the evening.
Briony and Jack’s wedding at Ta’ Betta Winery was held at the and of October. October weather in Malta can be a hit or miss. Generally it is still warm enough but it could be windy which was the case on their day. Because of this they opted for the area behind the villa as the dinner area (pictured below) as it is a little more protected from the sides with bushes and the terrace for the ceremony. It is very atmospheric place especially in the early evening light.

Limestone Heritage Wedding
Limestone Heritage Wedding – Waterfall Gardens
A truly unique wedding in Malta with both German and Nigerian traditions. Please scroll down for amazing images of the beautiful couple and their unbelievable party!
Located in the middle of Malta by the traditional village of Siggiewi, this beautiful venue is actually an old limestone quarry.
On ,normal’ days it is a museum showcasing the rich history of Malta and the ways limestone was and still is used in the country.
The venue though closes its doors to visitors when there’s an event held there.
Weddings at Limestone Heritage are held in the quarry area, but make no mistake, this is not what it used to be when the quarry was open and running, it is a beautifully designed space with 2 venues together. Don’t worry only one wedding can be held there at one time so the whole venue is yours if you book it. It is a large space but it can accommodate smaller wedding too. One of the weddings I photographed there had only about 50 guest and it didn’t feel like it was empty at all.
There is a grassy area with a beautiful tree where the ceremony or if you like the dinner can be held, and you can walk down a bit further in between olive trees to the Waterfall Gardens. At the Waterfall Gardens as you might guess from its name there is a huge waterfall. It is very impressive, it is sort of fake and can be turned off – more on that later.
There is even a permanent marquee for the not so ideal weather occasions.
Two thoughts about the venue:
- It is a very well organised venue with beautiful spaces in an enclosed area. You don’t have to worry about a long noisy party here. If you would like to have a view from your wedding venue then it is not the one for you though. The place has a nice feel to it, but no panoramic vistas.
- The Waterfall Gardens area with the waterfall in the background is really nice however the waterfall itself is very loud in my opinion. You can actually turn off the waterfall so that the wedding is more peaceful like that especially if you have the dinner in front of the waterfall with speeches for example.
One of my best weddings I photographed in Malta was of Pia and Uzoma’s wedding.
It started with a pre-wedding get together on the Saluting Battery in Valletta as the couple had all their guest travelling from abroad, many from the US and the other half from Germany. Both days they had traditional elements from both countries, on the first day, the night before the wedding they organised the so called: Polterabend, the guests break porcelain to bring luck to the couple’s marriage.
Wedding preparations took place in the beautiful Corinthia Palace San Anton Gardens, both the groom with groomsmen and the bride with bridesmaids were getting ready in the hotel.
The church celebrations were in Valletta in St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, it is a gorgeous not overdecorated very light church with beautiful columns making it picture perfect.
As Uzoma is originally from Nigeria, the wedding day was very much influenced by Nigerian Wedding traditions.
Amongst them was the so called Igbo Wedding Wine celebration whereas both the groomsmen and groom and then the bride with the bridesmaids enter the reception area in their traditional Nigerian attire, after which the groom sort of hides amongst the wedding guests and the bride has to look for the groom and offer him a glass of wine.

NEW! Ta’ Betta Wine Estate
A fairly new wedding venue in Malta for smaller weddings. It is a gorgeous 4 acre area, it offers beautiful views over the vineyard, the olive grove and the surrounding fields. In the distance even Mdina is visible.
Wedding Venues in Mdina
These two venues are in Mdina. Some of the venues I mentioned before are close to Mdina but not literally in the old city. Both these venues are better suited for smaller weddings.
Villa Bologna
Without a doubt one of my favourite venues in Malta, it is very popular and it’s easy to understand why. Though there is no sea view as it is located in the middle part of the island, the superb garden/s and the medieval building as a background make up for it. Lots of opportunities there, it can accommodate smaller and large weddings too. The garden is full of beautiful lush trees, and there is a gorgeous fountain too. The garden is so big that there is a permanent tent too on the side for colder weather weddings, but if it is not used it is not obtrusive. The ceremony location is simply stunning with two columns and a log path leading up to it among a grassy area.
Castello Dei Baroni
To sum up this amazing wedding venue, it is as its name suggests a castle from the times of the Knights of Malta, located in the open countryside in the north west of Malta near St. Paul’s Bay. Views over the surrounding countryside, big flat roof top and a big pool in the garden. What else would you need for a great venue location. It is suitable for colder weather weddings too, as they can organise the ceremony and the dinner inside the castle too.
Villa Arrigo
If you imagine your wedding in a Grand Marquee, (it is attached to the villa, it is white with a light beige marble floor, so it is beautifully light and clean looking) Villa Arrigo might be your place. The colonial style villa – situated in the outskirts of Naxxar – has a classic white interior (fantastic for high end portraits of the couples) and a large luxurious terrace. The green lush garden makes it very pleasant for a bigger crowd too.
Palazzo Parisio
Palazzo Parisio is an 18th century palace in the heart of picturesque Naxxar. In the gorgeous building you’ll find a grand Ballroom and a Family Chapel, and the lush walled garden features an Orangery. Palazzo Parisio is renowned for its cuisine. Luna Collection, 2 restaurants and a lounge cafe offers top dishes and great atmosphere. For events including weddings it does its own catering. The palace is a very highly sought after venue you’ll have to book it way in advance.
Villa Overhills
In the buzzing city of Birzebbugia, this late nineteenth century Villa is an beautiful spacious wedding venue. Gardens with mature trees for hot summer days, an impressive reception space and a gazebo with columns by the pool are just a few impressive features this venue offers.
Torre Paulina
Beautifully located in the valley of Madliena, this 17th century tower which was fully renovated offers a great background for weddings. An outside pool, lavish garden and terraces a view over the sea and Pembroke makes the venue an exciting and unique choice for couples.
Ir-Razzett L-Abjad
One of my favourite wedding venues in Malta, this 200 year old farm house has everything you wish for. A beautiful poolside, grapevine covered reception area, a rooftop terrace perfect for wedding ceremonies, a row of palm trees, an elevated area which is great for DJs and bands. The whole venue is very atmospheric and it has a lot of different areas so you can plan your wedding activities in several different ways. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue.

Ezek a Budapest környéki esküvő helyszínek egytől egyik gyönyörűek.
Segítsetek ti is.
Nyugodtan írjatok javaslatokkal, illetve esküvő fotózással kapcsolatban is keressetek.
Másik lista amit készítettem: Balatoni Esküvő Helyszín
Budapest Környéki Esküvő Helyszínek
1. Amber Bride Villa – Leányfalu
vagy más nevén Sorg – Villa
Daalarna Garden Szentendre
Esküvőkre tervezve! Csodás helyszín a Daalarna márkától, fentartható luxus jelzővel.
A fő jelző itt a nyugodtság, visszafogodtság. Letisztult földhöz közeli színek, meghitt sarkok jellemzik a tápiószentmártoni helyszínt.

Stoke Rochford Hall wedding UK
Castle Weddings in UK
Weddings in castles in England are a popular choice for many couples who want a fairy tale-like setting for their special day. There are many castles all around England and beyond to chose from, and they are all unique and special in their own way. Wedding photography at castles in the UK can be a truly magical experience for both the couple and the photographer.
Stoke Rochford Hall wedding UK
Stoke Rockford Hall is a victorian country mansion, located in Lincolnshire. The historic and picturesque setting of Stoke Rochford Hall Hotel provided a stunning backdrop for wedding photos for Bonnie and Karl that they will treasure for a lifetime. The garden with its 100+ year old trees and the castle were as gorgeous as you can imagine.
This particular wedding was a Chinese wedding in the UK and it was a blend of traditional Chinese customs and modern influences. The wedding included both Chinese and Western elements.
It began with the tea ceremony, in which Bonnie and Karl served tea to their parents and other senior members of both families. This symbolizes respect and honor to the couple’s parents and elders.
The wedding ceremony was held in the conservatory, and it was such a beautiful and unique way to exchange vows. The space was filled with natural light and it was a really romantic setting for the ceremony.
We scheduled the portraits for the best part of the day in terms of lights, and so we escaped from the wedding reception for half an hour a little before sunset. you cannot wish more than the castle and the landscaped garden as a background for gorgeous wedding portraits. There is even a little pond by the road leading up towards the castle so we passed by there too.
The day ended with a crazy party and a sparkle exit in the middle of the night…
